Monday 28th October

Welcome to a new half term. Please remember that we have four parent’s evenings this week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Homework will start at the end of the week to be handed in the second week back.
Please remember that we will test spellings every Friday. Please remember that project homework is due this week and we will be presenting them to the rest of the class.

RE
This week we will be learning all about HINDUISM and will be looking closely about holy books and some of the Hindu stories.

ENGLISH
This week we will be continuing with activities on Charlotte's web and activities relating to homophones . We will be learning all about where, wear and were. We will be learning all about apostrophes and contractions such as can’t, won’t and didn’t etc.

This week we will be practising column addition and will be moving onto subtraction with number lines and also columns.

THE CIVIL WAR
The presentations that we viewed during the last week were FANTASTIC. Well done everyone. This week we will be finishing off the topic and will be finding out what happens to Charles the first and Oliver Cromwell too.

This week we will be continuing with our  topic - CALLED. We will be thinking about and learning about the seven sacraments and will be learning all about the sacrament of confirmation.

TOPIC
THE CIVIL WAR
This week the children will have the opportunity to present their project homework on the civil war. The children will receive a certificate for their homework. We are looking forward to all their efforts of the last four weeks.

Monday 7th October

The assembly was excellent last week that 3 / 4 H performed and well done children for all your hard work and great ideas putting it together. They did really well performing it to over three hundred pupils and adults including our Chair of Governors.
RE
This week we will be continuing with our  topic - CALLED. We will be thinking about people who have been called and had a special calling to God. The children will also be thinking about special times when they have been chosen. The children will be learning about the calling of  Samuel and David too.

This week we will be reviewing lots of concepts such as number lines with addition and subtraction, rounding of numbers to the nearest 100, adding and subtracting multiples of 10 such as 20, 30, 40 etc.

TOPIC
THE CIVIL WAR
This week the children will be completing a cloze procedure on roundheads and cavaliers. The children will be also drawing large scale drawings of them and using paint and pastels to colour them in. The children will be creating a questionnaire for a roundhead or cavalier too
