Monday 15th December


Welcome to our blog and the final week of a busy and hardworking term.
Happy Christmas to you all. The children were great at the productions last week and we really thank you for all your time and effort learning the word, learning the songs and of course the costumes.

This week we have our children’s party on Tuesday afternoon.
The children have now been asked what they need to bring in and should have brought a letter home explaining what they need. The children will need their normal dinner arrangements that day too. The children can wear their own clothes.

On Friday we have our Carol concert at 9.00am . Please remember that space will be of a premium with the whole school attending and the parents of five and six.

Monday 8th November


Welcome to our blog. The children have worked extremely hard all week preparing the Christmas play. The acting is really coming along and the songs too. We are sure you will all enjoy watching our performances this week.

Tuesday 9.30am

Christmas dinner

On Monday the children will be having their Christmas dinner.

Friday afternoon tea party
On Friday afternoon we are holding a small tea party for the residents of Meadowview. The children will be singing and entertaining the pensioners. I am sure we will make sure they have a lovely time.

Homework

Homework has finished now until the new year as we appreciate how busy December is.  Please remember that we have lots of exercises to do on my maths. These need completing by the 19th of December. Thanks.


English and Maths
This week we will be reviewing lots of topics because we will be completing assessments too.
All Math’s groups will be revising and also completing an end of term assessment.

The children will be continuing with the topic VISITORS.

Monday 1st December


Welcome to our blog. The children are working really hard to learn their lines and start acting them out too. The dances are now all done and the children are practising and refining them.
Friday non uniform day/ Christmas fair.

On Friday we are having another own clothes day. Again the children have been asked to bring a wrapped present for a lady, man, boy or girl. On Friday after school there will be our annual Christmas fair with lots of stalls and grotto too.

 Homework
Homework has finished now until the new year as we appreciate how busy December is. However, we will be retesting most of the children on the white spellings sent how both half terms.

 ENGLISH
This week we will be learning about suffixes. That is adding another word onto a word at the end.
such as beautiful, cheerful, lastly, timeless childhood etc.
We will be practising our sentence starters and be concentrating on starting with an ing word at the start of a sentence.
Smiling the girl licked her lips as she could smell the chicken in the oven…

We will be doing lots of revision work such as number sequences, shape, addition, subtraction, temperature etc.

Monday 24th November


Welcome to our blog. We are still really working hard to learn all the play songs and have started to go through the lines. The children are doing very well and we are really impressed by how well the children are singing and acting.
Swimming

Swimming has now finished and we would like to thank the parents and grandparents who helped us during the ten weeks we went swimming.

Antbullying week

Last week we spent a lot of time learning about antibullying week and the children really enjoyed the work as well as learning what to do in a bullying situation. We hope that the children will use what they have learn in their daily life both in and out of school.

Homework
Homework was sent out and the homework will need to be in this Thursday please. The spellings will be tested on the Friday morning. We have noticed quite a few children not learning the spellings. Thank you for your support in this. My maths exercises and tasks have been set up and these will need completing by the end of the half term.

Monday 17th November



Welcome to our blog. We are really working hard to learn all the play songs and have nearly finished the auditions. Early this week the play parts will be sent home. We are all looking forward to working with the children on Barbouska.
Swimming
This is the last week for swimming. Can you please make sure that your child brings a coat to  school. The children need a coat every day now that we are in the month of November.
 
Antbullying week
This week we will be doing lots of work and assemblies on BULLYING as it is antibullying week.

The children will be composing situations when bullying is taking place.

Monday 10th November


Welcome to our blog. Last week we started to practise the Christmas play songs. This week we will be practising more and allocating parts after we do  small auditions for singing and acting.

The children need to know that an ADJECTIVE is a describing word and a NOUN is the name of an object, place or thing.

We test different concepts during this and use it to assess the children’s learning.

Welcome back to a busy half term and to our blog. This week we will start to practise a few of the songs for our Christmas play in December. We will also be asking the year four children about play parts.

Homework
We will send out spellings and homework at the end of this week. The homework will need to be in the following Thursday please. The spellings will be tested on the Friday morning. We have noticed quite a few children not learning the spellings. 

The spellings we sent home in the last week were age related spellings and must be learnt off by heart. Thank you for your support in this.

This week we will be learning about playscripts.

Monday 20th October


Welcome to our blog. The children enjoyed the trip to the copper mines and were very well behaved on both of the days.

Homework was sent out last week again and we appreciate it if it is brought back on Thursday so it can be marked. There are a few children who are bringing it back late. Thank you for your support on this.


ENGLISH
This week we will be learning lots of writing skills such as:

List sentences – writing a sentence with lists of things and commas in them such as cabbages, carrots and onions.

2 A sentences – putting two adjectives before each noun such as huge, red wagon.

Uplevelling and improving a story. Adding adverbs, time phrases and adjectives.

We will also be completing a dictation when the children write down what is being said to them.

Welcome to our blog. Mrs Harding’s class did really well at the assembly last week. Well done children.
The children are really excited about their trip to Llandudno.

Swimming is on every Tuesday. We have six weeks left.

On Tuesday morning at 9.00 am there will be an Assembly on HOMES. This assembly will be lead by 3 / 4 H.

We will be continuing with our new topic THE STONE AGE. The children will be learning about HOMES AND PEOPLE.  They will be looking at villages. We will also be drawing and designing a picture of Stone Henge.

 


 


 


 


 

SCIENCE

We will be continuing with our topic ROCKS AND SOILS. The children will be learning about how rocks are formed. They will be learning about the different types of rocks.
