Monday 27th January

Welcome to our blog spot this week. January is nearly over and we are fast approaching Spring!!!
HOMEWORK
Please remember that homework has been sent out every week and will be sent out for the next three weeks. There is on line homework for all the groups using MY MATHS. The project homework is due in the last week of term. Lots of children have already started to plan and work on their work. Please see details below.
Project homework
The children produced excellent project homework last term and they presented their work in lots of ways. It was wonderful to see how much everyone had enjoyed their work.
This half term’s topic is
What’s on the menu?
The topic is about the history of food, food around the world, how food is produced and health and diet.

Examples of work: power points, large posters, models, map work, written reports, songs, videos, menus,  etc.

Your child will be expected to give a short presentation to the rest of the class to show their finished product, during the last week: February 10th to 14th February.
Good luck and once again we are really looking forward to the wonderful creations and great ideas. 
Please note this is to replace the sentence homework. However, there are a few children who are not completing their homework and teachers may ask them  to do sentences homework instead.       

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to come in and see one of the three and four team.

RE
We will be continuing with our topic on local community. The children will understand what it means to belong to a community.
The children will be thinking about how communities and parishes celebrate. We celebrate in happy and sad times and join together as a community.

ENGLISH
In English this week we will be exploring LIMERICKS.

This week we will learning all about MULTIPLICATION.
The children will be exploring the use of arrays, scaling and missing numbers in multiplication questions.

Homework has started again at the end of last week and the new project topic homework has been sent out too. See below for details. Spellings were sent home in diaries and my maths homework is available on line too for two weeks.

This week we will learning all about parallel lines and right angles. The children will be able to recognise parallel lines and right angles and identify the different properties. The children will also be exploring nets of shapes.

Welcome to our blog spot. The children had a great few days back and we are all settling into our routines. Please make sure your child has their in door PE kit as we start doing PE every week.

Maths homework will remain the same with my maths and also a maths exercise. Mrs Morgan’s and Mrs Harding’s groups are up to task 10. Spellings will be given out on Friday too.

Tuesday 7th January 2014

Welcome to our blog spot.
Happy New Year and we hope that you had a great Christmas. We hope the children are now ready to return with lots of energy.
The staff and children were very upset and moved to say goodbye to Mr Barker. We wish him the best of luck in his retirement and we hope to see him soon.
Please remember that we are going to a pantomime on Thursday morning so any parents willing to accompany us please let us know.
RE
We will be starting a new topic on local community. The children will understand what it means to belong to a community.
They will understand the different roles people play in our community and why and be able to follow the sermon story and why it is important for a community. The children will be able to explain how Jesus plays a role in our community today.

ENGLISH
In English this week we will be starting to learn about instructions.

Have I set out things in the order they need to be done?
