29th April

Welcome to this week’s blog spot. The Year 4 had a great time at Kingswood and they were very well behaved. Homework will start again at the end of the week and normal homework will be sent home on Thursday/Friday.
Please don't forget swimming is on this week. We had a lot of children without kit last week. Thank you.

This week we will be completing a comprehension and also be practising to use all different types of conjunctions and connectives.  We will be reviewing diary writing and writing a diary about what happened last week during Kingswood and at school.

Welcome to this week’s blog spot. The Year 4 are getting really excited about their trip to Dearne Valley, Kingswood. The weather in Doncaster doesn’t look that bad either so hopefully we will have a good few days. The children should have brought home a list of what they need for the trip. If your child has not then please see the class teacher or Mrs James. There are seven members of staff accompanying the children and I am sure we will have a great time.

We are continuing with our new topic energy. We will be learning about The ascension – When Jesus goes back to his Father but promises to send the Holy Spirit. We will be thinking about how the disciples felt too.

Year 3 will be doing some exciting things while we are away. They will be exploring the work of Matisse and will be making spirals in RE to use in the wind.

Monday 15th April

Welcome to this week’s blog spot. We hope the children had a good four days back.

On Friday this week the children are showing an assembly on one of our
International Primary Curriculum topics – Bright Sparks. Parents are every welcome to attend at 9. 00 am.
There is homework this week due in on Thursday. The homework is on two sheets. Year 4 will not receive any more homework at the end of this week because of Kingswood. Another letter about Kingswod will be sent home this week. Also there is a HolyCommunion meeting at 6.30pm at St Josephs for Year 4.

Mrs Sarsfield’s Group

In Mrs Sarsfield’s group will be learning about angles and turns. They will be reviewing the names of all the angles and know what a full, half and quarter turns are.

Welcome back to the summer term. Remember the children may wear their summer uniform if the weather permits. There will be no homework this week. Please remember there is no swimming this week and also Monday is an INSET DAY.


MATHS

This week we will be learning all about right angles using set squares. We will also be learning about 2D shape and 3D shape.

We are starting a new topic called ENERGY and completing our topic about  Lent and Easter – ALL GIVING.

TOPIC
This week we will be continuing our with  International Primary Curriculum topic and  making up an assembly on BRIGHT SPARKS - ELECTRICITY . You will find out the date of the assembly when finalised in school.
