Monday 2nd March


Welcome to our blog.

This week it is book week and the children will be doing lots of activities on Thursday. The children will need to bring a favourite book on Thursday to share with the rest of the class. Also the children will be dressing up as a book character.
Homework was sent home on Friday: Math’s homework and spellings to learn. Project homework will continue this half term too.

In RE this week we will be continuing with our topic LISTENING AND SHARING.

We will be thinking about the different Gospel stories and the important messages that they send.
The children will be retelling a Gospel story.

English
This week we will be learning to write about paragraphs and irregular plurals. It is also Book week and the children can bring in a favourite book to talk about.

This week we will be continuing to learn about FRACTIONS. The children will be simplifying fractions, adding and subtracting fractions and reviewing fractions that add up to one.

The children will be learning about ANGLES. The children will learn about obtuse, reflex and acute angles. Also the children will be learning about different lines:perpendicular and horizontal and parallel.

 
Science
The children this week will be learning about FRICTION. The children will be making up an experiment on testing toy cars on different surfaces. They will be learning that friction is when two surfaces rub together and also learning about how friction can be useful.

 Topic
We will be continuing with our topic on the ROMANS. The children will be learning about Roman gladiators.

Welcome to our blog. We hope the children have had a good rest.
The children had a great time presenting this week’s homework again and they received an allocation of points for their efforts. We will be doing project homework too this week.
RE
In RE this week we will be continuing with our topic LISTENING AND SHARING.
The children will be thinking about what Mass includes and designing a web site page. The children will also be thinking about the Gloria and the importance of its words.
 
English
This week the children will be completing a dictation and handwriting exercise linked to the topic work of the Romans. The children will also be learning about plurals adding s and es. The children will also be learning about frontal adverbials.

Monday 9th February


Welcome to our blog.

The children had a great time presenting this week’s homework again and they received an allocation of points for their efforts.

There is My maths homework to and this can be completed any time up to the end of this half term.

Please remember that there are parent's evening this week. Mrs Morgan's and Mrs Sarsfield's have theirs on Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Harding's is on Wednesday and Thursday as she is on a course on Tuesday evenings.

In RE this week we will be continuing with our new topic LISTENING AND LISTENING.
The children will be listening to a story about Stone soup. The children will be making up a poem, sharing is….. They will also be thinking about the words in the song ‘Love is like a magical penny.’

English
This week the children will be completing a dictation and handwriting exercise linked to the topic work of the Romans. The children will also be reviewing using an apostrophe for possession and completing a dictation to assess their learning.

The children will be writing an advert for a Roman villa.

If children do not bring their work in for two weeks then the child will have to revert to doing sentences every week. The children were really excited and we are encouraging them to complete the work themselves with some help. If there are any questions do not hesitate to come in and ask one of the 3 and 4 team.

In RE this week we will be completing our topic on  JOURNEYS.  The children will be starting a new topic LISTENING AND SHARING.

This week the children will be completing a dictation and handwriting exercise linked to the topic work of the Romans. The children will also be reviewing using an apostrophe for possession.

The children will be reviewing the alphabetical order. They will also be writing a letter home as if they were a Roman soldier.
