Monday 9th February


Welcome to our blog.

The children had a great time presenting this week’s homework again and they received an allocation of points for their efforts.
If there are any questions do not hesitate to come in and ask one of the 3 and 4 team.
There is My maths homework to and this can be completed any time up to the end of this half term.

Please remember that there are parent's evening this week. Mrs Morgan's and Mrs Sarsfield's have theirs on Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Harding's is on Wednesday and Thursday as she is on a course on Tuesday evenings.

RE
In RE this week we will be continuing with our new topic LISTENING AND LISTENING.
The children will be listening to a story about Stone soup. The children will be making up a poem, sharing is….. They will also be thinking about the words in the song ‘Love is like a magical penny.’

English
This week the children will be completing a dictation and handwriting exercise linked to the topic work of the Romans. The children will also be reviewing using an apostrophe for possession and completing a dictation to assess their learning.

The children will be writing an advert for a Roman villa.

Maths

This week we will be reviewing lots of topics such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. We will be reviewing Roman numerals and also rounding to 10, 100 and 1000.

Maths
Mrs Sarsfield
The children will be learning about FRACTIONS. The children will be calculating fractions that equal one and also be adding fractions together. The children will be finding fractions of numbers and equivalent fractions too.

Topic
We will be continuing with our topic on the ROMANS. The children will be learning about Roman Roman roads and be designing their own mosaic pattern using paper squares.
