Monday 6th October


Welcome to our blog. 

 Homework was given out last Friday and your child should have brought home:

A list of spellings for the whole half term

A list in their diary of spellings.

A homework book.

A maths sheet task three.
 

Please remember that the children have five activities on my Maths to be completed before the end of term.

Swimming is on every Tuesday. We have six weeks left.

On Tuesday morning at 9.00 am there will be an Assembly on HOMES. This assembly will be lead by 3 / 4 H.

Maths

This week we will be continuing to  learning about all different types of addition.

We will be adding using a number line.


We will be progressing onto finding the difference and rounding to the nearest 100 and 1000.
Please remember that we will be learning out timetables too.

This week the children will be reviewing more addition, subtraction and timetables too.
 

English

We will be learning about   SPELLING EL, IL, LE and AL words. We will also be writing a dictation.
This is when the children have to write down what we are saying.

We will also be learning more about INSTRUCTIONS.

The children will also be practising their handwriting.

They will be practising:

·         Joining up.

·         Starting with a  flick on the line.

·         Writing on the line.

·         Using a consistent size of handwriting.


RE

PROMISES

This week we will be starting our new topic called Promises. We will be thinking about what the topic might be about, considering our promises and clubs and groups where we might make promises.

 
Topic

THE STONE AGE

We will be continuing with our new topic THE STONE AGE. The children will be learning about HOMES AND PEOPLE.  They will be looking at villages. We will also be drawing and designing a picture of Stone Henge.

 


 


 


 


 

SCIENCE

We will be continuing with our topic ROCKS AND SOILS. The children will be learning about how rocks are formed. They will be learning about the different types of rocks.
