Monday 13th October


Welcome to our blog. Mrs Harding’s class did really well at the assembly last week. Well done children.
The children are really excited about their trip to Llandudno.
Monday – Year 3
Wednesday –Year 4


Please remember that the children will need for the trip:

Warm coat
Gloves
Back pack.
No more than six pounds for the shop.
Walking shoes or trainers.

We will arrive back at 3.30pm traffic permitting.

Homework was sent out last week again and we appreciate it if it is brought back on Thursday so it can be marked.

ENGLISH
This week we will be learning more about adverbs and homophones. We will also be writing an account of our trip to the mines.
We will also be completing a dictation when the children write down what is being said to them.


MATHS Mrs Harding/ Mrs Morgan
The children will be working on addition and subtraction. They will also be learning time facts.
They will be tested on their times tables on Thursday and we are concentrating on the eight timetables.

RE Promises
The children will be thinking about promises we make, breaking promises and also groups and clubs when we make promises.

Topic
The children will be learning about quarrying and mining. They will be creating an information sheet on mining using the knowledge form their trip.

Swimming is on every Tuesday. We have six weeks left.

On Tuesday morning at 9.00 am there will be an Assembly on HOMES. This assembly will be lead by 3 / 4 H.

This week we will be continuing to  learning about all different types of addition.

We will be adding using a number line.


We will be progressing onto finding the difference and rounding to the nearest 100 and 1000.

English

We will be learning about   SPELLING EL, IL, LE and AL words. We will also be writing a dictation.
This is when the children have to write down what we are saying.

We will be continuing with our new topic THE STONE AGE. The children will be learning about HOMES AND PEOPLE.  They will be looking at villages. We will also be drawing and designing a picture of Stone Henge.

We will be continuing with our topic ROCKS AND SOILS. The children will be learning about how rocks are formed. They will be learning about the different types of rocks.

Monday 29th September

Welcome to our blog.  Well done to all those children who read at home and also who had a comment in  their diary. We are giving a raffle ticket out to everyone who has read three times each week. There will be a small raffle at the end of the week.

Monday 15 th September

Welcome to our blog and thank you for taking the time to read it. 

Homework will start at the end of this week. It will be sent home and will be collected in the following Thursday.

The children will be completing a reading comprehension, learning about words with soft c in them. and will be writing a letter and using a volcano setting as a stimulus. The children will be editing the letter too to improve their writing.

We will be continuing with our new topic THE STONE AGE. The children will be learning about why it was called the Stone age and famous landmarks built in the Stone Age. The children will be creating a fact file about Stone Henge.





Science
We will be continuing with our topic ROCKS AND SOILS. The children will be learning about volcanoes, lava and rock. The children will be observing an experiment to create  volcano using bicarbonate and vinegar.

Monday 8th September

Welcome to our blog. The children had a great few days back in school and have started to settle back into a routine. Well done to all those children who read at home and also who had a comment in  their diary.

During the first few weeks of term the children will continue to learn about routines and classroom rules.

Please remember that the Induction meeting will take place at 3pm on Tuesday the 8th September.

Swimming starts on Tuesday too for ten weeks. The children will need a swimming kit and towel.

Wednesday 3rd September

Welcome to Three and Four.

Welcome to our own 3 and 4 blog spot. We will update this each week with brief notes about what we are learning in the next week.

During the first few weeks of term the children will be learning about routines and classroom rules.

The children will be thinking about what they like in a classroom and what rules that they would like to have. The children will be doing lots of circle time and discussion. 

The children will be reviewing the code of conduct and going over the expected high expectations of behaviour both in and out of the classroom.

Homework will start in two weeks. However, we ask that the children are heard read at least three times per week and please enter any comments in their diary. Thank you.

English
In English this week the children will be learning about capitals letters and full stops. The children will be completing some reading and spelling tests so that the teachers know what groups the children will be in.

RE
Homes
The children will be starting the first RE topic HOMES. The children will be thinking about their own homes, the importance of homes and the different types of homes.

We will be starting our new topic THE STONE AGE. The children will be introduced to the topic and learn some basic knowledge and factual information about THE STONE AGE.
